01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled along the vibrant P.º Costa Canaria in Las Palmas, El Velero Playa del Inglés offers an authentic Mediterranean dining experience that captivates both locals and visitors alike. This charming restaurant invites you into a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where the friendly staff greet you with genuine enthusiasm, setting the perfect tone for a memorable meal.

El Velero’s menu beautifully showcases the rich flavors of Mediterranean and Canarian cuisine, with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients that come alive on your plate. Diners rave about the day's fresh catch—a masterpiece of the sea expertly prepared and paired with traditional Canarian fish dishes that deliver a delicate balance of texture and taste. Whether it’s the succulent fish, hearty steak options, or the richly flavored spaghetti Bolognese served with a generous bowl of parmesan, each dish is crafted to delight the senses.

One of the standout culinary highlights is their tapas selection. The bacon-date rolls, fondly recommended by many patrons, offer a perfect harmony of smoky saltiness and subtle sweetness that lingers long after the last bite. Complementing these indulgent flavors, El Velero’s carefully curated wine list earns praise for its ability to elevate every meal to new heights.

The dining experience is further enriched by the attentive and humorous service that makes every guest feel right at home. With reasonable prices, a lively yet comfortable setting, and delightful surprises such as a complimentary local liquor to end the evening, El Velero Playa del Inglés not only satisfies hunger but also nurtures the soul.

Whether you’re embarking on a culinary adventure or seeking a reliable spot to unwind after a day at the beach, El Velero promises a feast of fresh flavors, heartfelt hospitality, and a vibrant Mediterranean ambiance that will have you returning for more.

Another chapter added to our culinary adventures! El Velero was an exceptionally inviting establishment. From the moment we approached, a friendly host greeted us with enthusiasm, eager to present the menu filled with tempting options. After much deliberation, we opted for the day's fresh catch, complemented by the traditional Canarian fish. The meal was nothing short of exquisite. Each bite of the fish was perfectly flaked and infused with a radiant seasoning that danced on our taste buds, making it a truly mouthwatering experience. We stopped here for a relaxing coffee and cake before walking along the beach and dunes to the lighthouse. A lovely bar/cafe with views overlooking the beach and very attentive staff. The apple cake was amazingly delicious and beautifully presented and for the price we paid for 2 and 2 coffees we felt we robbed them. The whole place was very clean including the toilets

Good portion size for a menu that costs 10.95€. Food tastes great. The atmosphere is good because it is right next to the beach. A lot of people passing by.
